How can you know whether an agent is truly equipped to protect your biggest asset and guide you with confidence through a home purchase or sale?

In a recent episode of the Legacy Leaders podcast, James Moore and I talk about what it actually takes for an agent to serve at a fiduciary level, not just as someone with a license.

During our conversation, I shared how my path from a criminal justice major to door-to-door sales eventually led to a 25-year career in real estate. For me, real estate has always been about communication, influence, negotiation, and managing uncertainty. Those are the skills that matter most when a client is making one of the biggest financial decisions of their life.

We talked about the parts of the profession that inspire me, the challenges it brings, and why I believe real estate is ultimately about people, not paperwork.

Beyond my personal story, we explored broader issues in real estate, especially how the low barrier to entry can expose homebuyers and sellers to unnecessary risk. My view is that a real estate professional should be a fiduciary who puts the client’s interests above everything else. That includes safeguarding equity, moving the process efficiently, and minimizing stress at every stage.

We wrapped up by talking about what an ideal client relationship looks like, why proven systems matter, and why I never compromise on proven systems and processes. As the market continues to shift, I remain focused on studying, adapting, and leading my team with the mindset that our clients deserve excellence.
